Nike’s PG1 Paul George Shows How Nike Is Fighting For The Market

Paul George is really an unlikely player when you consider the number of players who don’t have a Signature release. Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Draymond Green seem to be better options, but in Paul George there seems to be an attempt at creating lower tiered East Coast version of Kevin Durant. Adidas is stockpiling athletes to prepare from their shift from having the NBA. The only basketball signature athletes they have are Harden, Rose and Lillard. Nike is cementing their player roster with active players who are young and can continue to carry the brand forward.

While I don’t see George becoming a household name, he is featured in national advertisements with Jeep and Gatorade. To me he is a player who carries a TMac style of play and look and if Nike creates the shoe if the right colorways at the 110 dollar price the shoe will definitely perform well.
