The company, which has its North American headquarters in Portland, claims Asics America Corp. is infringing on 10 fitness tracking patents. The lawsuit also names FitnessKeeper Inc., a Boston-based digital fitness company Asics acquired in 2016.

In breaking news Matthew Kish of PDX reports that adidas is pulling a Nike and going after ASICS for infringement on digital fitness gear. In September of 2016 ASICS created new global division to keep in step with Nike+, miCoach on miadidas, RunIQ with New Balance and the multiple digital divisions that Under Armour invested in.

Obviously something is amiss because adidas has taken the time to claim that ASICS is infringing on 10 fitness tracking patents.
